BOOK: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
-As a child, I was a voracious reader. I couldn't get enough of Roald Dahl, Ann Martin, and Shel Silverstein, but it wasn't until I was introduced to CS Lewis and his Narnia that I truly fell in love with the written word and the world it can create. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is the first of seven books in the children's fantasy series known as The Chronicles of Narnia. CS Lewis famously wrote that a children's book isn't a great story unless it can be enjoyed by adults. This truth has been my bar for children's literature ever since. Chronicles is an adventure that catapults you back and forth between the real world (English countryside) and a fantasy world (Narnia) full of magic and mysticism, with talking beasts and listening trees. The first book in this series sees a dying Narnia run by an evil witch who keeps the land in an eternal winter. When four young siblings stumble upon the mystical land through an ordinary wardrobe in their home, the lines between reality and fantasy begin to blur as their responsibilities for a Narnian redemption, and the fight between good and evil, grow greater. The adventure challenges our view of time, celebrates the Christian value of sacrifice, and fervently supports the belief that everyone, no matter your past, can be redeemed through good deeds. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is a classic and a must read. It is the first book to change my life. During this Christmas season, give it a chance to change yours, too.

-This color scheme evokes the glistening snow that first captivated Lucy Pevensie into the world of Narnia. To add a bit more of the mystical atmosphere, add a white candle to your gift. The candle is reminiscent of the lamppost that serves as Lucy's initial guide, and it is a profound reminder of the powerful symbolism that light possesses throughout the Christmas season.

-My husband makes THE BEST spiked Christmas coffee, and while I cannot share his secret recipe, I can suggest a simple coffee with a splash of Bailey's if you're looking to treat your of-age loved ones to a cozy night at home as you stream the film adaptation of The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe. If you're looking to adapt this idea for your children, or if you're simply not into alcoholic beverages, some delicious hot cocoa with a candy cane throne in is not only aesthetically pleasing, but it's also scrumptiously delicious. You may go back for seconds, don't say I didn't warn you.
WARDROBE Staple: White Ankle Boots
-White ankle boots are the fresh alternative to black boots and they have dominated this year's fashion scene. From London Fashion Week to Copenhagen, the 60's inspired trend has been seen all over the world's most stylish streets and I am loving it.
-On a personal note: I was recently in a shoot where I got to choose one item from Wardrobe to keep. I ended up choosing the leather skirt. I should've picked the Stuart Weitzman boots. Point being, gift a pair of white ankle boots this Christmas. I promise you, she'll love them.

A FOODIE TREAT: Crumpets and Peppermint Tea
-If you're putting together a gift basket, add a jar of your favorite preserves. If this is just another fun part of family Christmas activity, toast the crumpets and slather on a little bit of butter, a good bit of your favorite preserve, and pour the peppermint tea into those adorable holiday tea cups you've been waiting all year to use. Whether you're reading about Narnia or watching the film, this will surely get you into the spirit of things.
